Epiphany Gives to Palolo Elementary School Food Drive

Palolo Elementary School was invited by Jarrett Middle School to be involved with a project to provide food boxes for families of needy students. When Palolo Elementary School families arrived to receive the food boxes, they were disappointed when it was discovered that a mistake had been made and their names were not on the list. This was very disappointing to the students and staff of Palolo Elementary School.

The principal and staff immediately started to make up for this disappointment with a food drive of their own to provide 55 food boxes for the students who had signed up. Henrietta Clemons, the Volunteer Coordinator of Palolo Elementary, reached out to Mr. Lot Lau Chair of our Outreach Committee for help. Father Chris and Mr. Lau made a special appeal to our congregation this past Sunday to support this effort through checks or cash. The congregation responded with $748 for the school’s Food Drive.

Mr. Lot Lau presented Epiphany’s donation on the following Monday to Henrietta and Gary Harada, Principal.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
